Charter

You will begin your charter at the Folly Beach Boat Landing located at 97 Center St. Folly Beach, SC. Arrive 15 minutes prior to your charter in order to allow time for parking, greeting Captain Cat at the Folly Beach Boat Landing and getting settled on the boat.

On your charter Captain Cat will guide you on a scenic loop along the Folly River. You and your group will experience an array of wildlife while taking in some of the most breathtaking views of Charleston. One of the highlights of your charter is sure to be bottlenose dolphin sightings and if you're lucky you might even witness them feeding in some of their favorite spots. Wave as we pass by the infamous Bowens Island Restaurant and Crosby's Fish and Co on the Folly River, two of the best places to find local seafood in Charleston. Choose a 3 hour charter experience if you'd like to spend time exploring Morris Island, a barrier island that is home to the historic Morris Island Lighthouse, incredible views and solitary beaches. Whether you choose to book a Dolphin Tour or a Sunset Cruise our goal is that you leave with some of your best memories of Charleston.

Captain Cat will have bottled water available for your group as well as proper floatation devices readily available to accommodate every passenger. Enjoy your time on the water with Uncle Charlie's Charters!

The Boat

The Boat

The 'Nesta,' named after our late English Golden Retriever, holds a maximum of 4 people to make sure everyone has a comfortable experience on the boat. The boat is an 18 foot custom made skiff, called a 'Cobbtown Skiff.' The boat builder was a talented designer in Georgia and only made a small number of these particular boats.

Nesta's unique shape makes it perfect for our low-country waterways, with a shallow draft and an elevated bow that cuts through water with ease, allowing Captain Cat to navigate the surrounding rivers with the comfort of each passenger in mind. Captain Cat's experience on the water and the 'Nesta' make for an exceptional team, perfect for your Charleston charter experience.

Cat Sidwell is the Owner and Captain of Uncle Charlie's Charters. Cat has spent most of their life on the water and began surfing at the age of 8 spending summers in the Florida Keys exploring the ocean by boat at a very young age.

Growing up in South Carolina, Cat found a sense of belonging in the water and eventually moved to Costa Rica to surf. The endless desire to explore new waves eventually drew Cat to Santa Cruz, CA where they explored the Monterey Bay and enjoyed all that the California coast has to offer. Cat moved back home to Folly Beach, SC in 2019.

With diverse experience navigating the ocean by boat Cat brings a knowledgable poise and unique sense of wonder to each tour. Cat's love for the water and appreciation for nature make for an unforgettable Charleston experience.
