Meet Captain Cat
Cat Sidwell is the Owner and Captain of Uncle Charlie's Charters (named after our Newfoundland, Charlie). Cat has spent most of their life on the water and began surfing at the age of 8 spending summers in the Florida Keys exploring the ocean by boat at a very young age.
Growing up in South Carolina, Cat found a sense of belonging in the water and eventually moved to Costa Rica to surf. The endless desire to explore new waves eventually drew Cat to Santa Cruz, CA where they explored the Monterey Bay and enjoyed all that the California coast has to offer. Cat moved back home to Folly Beach, SC in 2019.
With diverse experience navigating the ocean by boat Cat brings a knowledgable poise and unique sense of wonder to each tour. Cat's love for the water and appreciation for nature make for an unforgettable Charleston experience.
Your charter boat
The 'Nesta,' named after our late English Golden Retriever, holds a maximum of 4 people to make sure everyone has a comfortable experience on the boat. The boat is an 18 foot custom made skiff, called a 'Cobbtown Skiff.' The boat builder was a talented designer in Georgia and only made a small number of these particular boats.
Nesta's unique shape makes it perfect for our low-country waterways, with a shallow draft and an elevated bow that cuts through water with ease, allowing Captain Cat to navigate the surrounding rivers with the comfort of each passenger in mind. Captain Cat's experience on the water and the 'Nesta' make for an exceptional team, perfect for your Charleston charter experience.
While cruising the river two people will be seated up front and two people will be seated in the back.
